Murdering infant girls is the “worst kind of stupidity.”
According to famous Pakistani Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil, the “worst type of ignorance” is murder, divorce, and debasement after daughters’ birth.
His remark came after a dad in Mianwali, Pakistan, shot his seven-day-old infant girl on Monday because he wanted a boy.
Jamil described the incident as “heartbreaking.”
He went on to say that having a daughter is a source of pride and a cause to thank God.
“The lineage of Prophet (PBUH) continues via a daughter,” Jamil stated, adding that being a daughter’s father is a beautiful honour.
The unfortunate event occurred in Mianwali’s Noor Pura when a father murdered his newborn. The matter has sparked widespread public outrage.
According to police officer Inam-ur-Rehman, the father was detained in a neighbouring area on Thursday.
