Imran Khan ‘over-promised and over-committed said Afridi

According to former cricket captain Shahid Afridi, Prime Minister Imran Khan was “over-promised” and “over-committed” before the 2018 General Elections.

Afridi is in London to collect funds for his humanitarian organisation, the Shahid Afridi Foundation. He also addressed to media at the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) event held at the Pakistan High Commission.

Afridi, believes Imran Khan should have entered the government first and then made a realistic appraisal of the situation.

“He should have entered government with appropriate preparation and a competent and genuine staff.” However, he still has time to do it, “Afridi said.

Politics, according to Afridi, is not like playing cricket because the realities are harsh and different. When questioned about the Opposition’s no-confidence vote against the Prime Minister, Afridi remarked that as a sportsman, the PM “must have endured a lot of stress during his cricketing days and must be taking stress now. As well.”

“Politics is a different game.” It’s so unlike that Imran Khan had to visit Bahadurabad (the MQM’s Karachi headquarters). It’s a whole different game. Politics isn’t just about me. This belongs to everyone. Both the Opposition and the government include both good and evil individuals. Not everyone is terrible; you must accept everyone. Pakistan is for everyone, “He said.

The former cricket captain went on to say that if Prime Minister Imran Khan had brought everyone along with him, Pakistan would be a completely different place today. He said that only institutions should have the authority to issue National Reconciliation Orders (NRO) to others.

“Leave it to the institutions to make the choices.” The power of the NRO should be in the hands of the institutions. The NRO is not in the control of the Prime Minister. Strengthen the institutions, allow them to flourish and operate, and allow them to provide NRO.”

Afridi claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan had done some fantastic things, including introducing health cards and the dam development plan. Still, he blamed it on his team’s inability to present it adequately.

“It’s not that Imran Khan’s administration has done nothing. He has completed some work, but his team cannot display it. His team is unable to display the important job that they have completed. There has been some positive work, but Imran Khan made lofty promises before taking office. At least 10-15 years will take time for those things to come to reality.”

When asked whether he intends to enter politics, Afridi said, “I only know one form of politics that I have been practising for over eight years, which is the politics of assisting people.” So I attempt to help people via my foundation as much as I can.

Afridi said that Pakistanis need assistance since rural sections lack even basic amenities

Afridi praised Najam Sethi for introducing the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the nation.

“I have always complimented Najam Sethi for starting the PSL because it has generated fantastic talent in the nation,” Afridi stated.
